My Sister Made Me Do It!!!
The first illustrated wedding invitation I designed was for my sister in 2010. I was working as a graphic designer at my church when she called. She had found something she really liked but couldn’t afford. I was already her maid-of-honor, but now she wanted me to design her invitations.
My initial reaction was, “WHAT!?! I don’t know. Are you sure?” AND she said, “YES, you can do this. I believe in you!”
I believed designing a wedding invitation would stretch me beyond my abilities. I decided to push past the fear, and I am glad I did. The personal touches came together in this beautiful display of their unique love story.

Hello! I am Tasha Montgomery
an amateur baker, barista, and stationery designer.
So when I decided to start my wedding stationery business, I enlisted my sister, who is a writer, to help me with the name. She suggested Ampersand Ink - I love the imagery of relationships and ink designs on paper.
A SIX with leanings toward FIVE. The Loyalist - Defender.
My enneagram celeb: Julia Roberts.
...the creative behind AmpersandInk and your stationery bestie; always ready to assist and give guidance on all things paper.
Born and raised in Southern California. I started AmpersandInk with just an Etsy shop and an idea to help my clients celebrate life's great moments.
Growing up my sister and I would surprise our parents with these elaborate date nights. We would transform the house into a Bed n' Breakfast, movie theater in the living room, and a restaurant in the dining room with a table set for two. Those childhood memories with my family are my absolute favorite.

If you are anything like my sister, you want the moon but can not afford the sticker price. Maybe you decided to DIY and quickly discovered that the stationery options at your local paper store are just not good enough. They may be pretty but require way more time and effort than they are worth.
Your story deserves the spotlight. Like any great romance novel - the cover art should be just as beautiful as the love story within. Your wedding invitation is your stories cover art, AND will be the first thing your guests will see. It should give them a glimpse into the celebration to come and invite them to be a part of your happy beginning.
They say, "Don't judge a book by its cover." - but if you're really honest we do it all the time. Then there is that other saying, "You never get a second chance to make a good first impression."
That is where I come in. I take the time to get to know you and your fiancé so I can craft a design that reflects your unique relationship and the moments that have led you to this point.
