As the stationery designer for Amber and Jonathan’s backyard wedding, I designed not only their invitations but also all day-of paper goods and all the event design details. They wanted a fun-whimsical wedding where everyone felt like family.
Because of the playfulness of the bride and groom, we were able to include many personal touches. Both enjoyed climbing trees and playing board games together, so I designed their invitation with that in mind. Their guest favors were a deck of cards and a bag of fair-trade coffee beans.
Their nicknames inspired their food options, hers- hammy and his- fry. 24 Carrots designed a gourmet hammy n’ fry bar with sliders, fries, and various dipping sauces. They also had a table with five different homemade cookies, made by the bride’s twin sister.
The mother of the bride had a table for guests to share their thoughts and prayers for the couple in a journal of fabric squares that she would later make into a quilt for the couple.
Amber and Jonathan’s backyard wedding was truly magical, from the ceremony to the couple’s farewell – and that kiss at sunset.
