A Rustic Log Cabin Weekend Wedding in Fort Payne, Alabama
Surrounded by autumn’s golden hues, Leigha and Kile’s log cabin weekend wedding in Fort Payne, Alabama, was a celebration of love, warmth, and nature. The rustic charm of Bear Creek Log Cabins set the stage for their intimate gathering, reflecting their love for music and simple joys.
A Handcrafted Invitation Suite with a Personal Touch
The invitation suite was a masterpiece. Designed on birdseye maple veneer paper, a hand-drawn fall leaf wreath framed the couple’s names. The back featured an illustrated map guiding guests through the scenic surroundings. A quote from Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist added a poetic touch:
“What the boy felt at that moment was that he was in the presence of the only woman in his life, and that, with no need for words, she recognized the same thing. He was more certain of it than of anything in the world.”
The invitation also depicted their envisioned ceremony beneath a majestic oak and pine trees, with their black lab, Daisy, faithfully by their side.

Southern Hospitality and a Cozy Welcome
As guests arrived they were greeted to a warm, fireside BBQ, where stories were shared over s’mores. Each log cabin held a thoughtful gift—hand-selected coffee from the couple, homemade biscotti, and a beautifully designed program detailing local adventures and the celebration schedule.

A Weekend of Meaningful Details
Every aspect of this log cabin weekend wedding was personal. A dear friend prepared gourmet meals, the groom baked signature pies, and the bride’s sister crafted handmade chocolate truffles. The couple even brewed their own IPA. Evenings were filled with bocce ball and favorite records spinning in the background.
A Magical Wedding Ceremony in the Autumn Woods
The crisp autumn air added to the magic as Leigha and Kile exchanged vows under towering trees. Golden leaves blanketed the ground as musicians played guitar, violin, and cello, creating a soulful soundtrack to their vows. Followed by an intimate family-style dinner reception, the place settings were family heirlooms from both the bride and groom’s grandparents.
A Farewell to Remember
The weekend ended with a heartfelt farewell as the newlyweds set off for their honeymoon in Italy, leaving behind laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.

Revisiting the Design After 14 Years
Fourteen years later, I had the opportunity to revisit Leigha and Kile’s Log Cabin Weekend Wedding invitation suite. As an artist, my growth over the years has led me to refine my hand-lettering, create a new oak tree design, and beautifully update the illustration of the bride, groom, and their sweet black lab, Daisy. This redesign captures the essence of their wedding weekend while showcasing my artistic evolution.
Below, you will find the new and improved Log Cabin Weekend Wedding Invitation suite of Leigha and Kile.
